ABOUT THE PROJECT

Multnomah County intends to replace the nearly 100-year-old Burnside bridge with a seismically upgraded structure aka “earthquake ready” since it is a regional lifeline within the City of Portland. A CMGC contracting mechanism for construction of the bridge was approved in January 2022. The project is nearing the procurement phase and the BBP team will be looking for subcontractors for subsequent phases. We anticipate that the following scopes of work will be available during the preconstruction and construction phases. We are anticipating the release of the CMGC RFP in Early March. We anticipate that Multnomah County will select a contractor in mid/late 2023 and begin preconstruction shortly after. Anticipated dates and durations for project phases are shown below.
